Skål Living’s journey started back in March 2021, in a small handmade ceramics atelier in Istanbul. Later on with the addition of several new products, it is now a bohemian home&living brand.

Founder of the brand Selen Kale designed the first collection “Cosmos” inspired by the Sun, the Moon and the harmony of the opposites in the universe. 

Originally, skål means “bowl” in Nordic languages, and according to old Viking traditions, those bowls would be filled with beer and passed from person to person at community gatherings. From that tradition of passing the bowl, the word “Skål” now also means ”Cheers!”. 

Having started with the motto of designing unique products, Skål Living is a community of like-minded, colorful and unconventional individuals living life in a bohemian way!

Ethical & Sustainable Production

Majority of the Skål products are designed by us and manufactured by women producers who are coming from economically disadvantaged backgrounds based on fair trade principles. This way we are helping our women producers having a sustainable income whereas making the most out of their skillsets. 

We also try to maximize the use of sustainably sourced raw materials through the production processes.
